Can I access the domain name with or without the "www"?
Yes. You will be able to access your domain address with or without the "www" in front of it. Example: [http://www.yourdomain.com] or [http://yourdomain.com] is acceptable.
Can you host any domain?
Yes. We can house any valid domain extension.
Can additional domains point to a directory within my primary account?
Yes. This is available depending on your account type. This is called "Redirected URL". There is no additional setup fee for each additional domain, but each domain will be a seperate account with all the features of a regular account including email. Each redirected URL can appear as a seperate and unique website to your web visitors, yet you only have one web site to manage and maintain.
Can I have additional domains pointing to the same index page as my primary domain?
Yes. This is referred to as "parking additional domains". There is a small additional setup fee of $35 for each additional domain. This is a great way to expand the marketing of your business.
How can I change my domain name?
The IP number, file structure, paths for the scripts, etc. are all setup for that particular domain name. You will need to close your existing account, and open a new one with the new domain name.
What if the monthly traffic is exceeded?
We monitor usage on a weekly basis. You will be notified ahead of time if it looks like you will exceed the limit. If you are running out of server space you can then make changes to stay within your limits such as removing excess emails which take up your server space. You can upgrade to another hosting account to increase your server space and bandwidth, or if you only require additional bandwidth we charge $5 per 1 GB per month.
Why do some companies offer unlimited data transfer/traffic? Why don't you?
Beware of those offering unlimited traffic. Unregulated traffic, especially when streaming audio is allowed, can be very taxing on a server causing slow response times and poor system performance. To accommodate such traffic, a provider would need to increase the number of T3 lines. This, of course, is expensive and those costs would need to be passed on to the consumer. We don't put banner ads or popups on your website.
What is the storage limit on the email accounts?
Each POP account uses the space available for your account. If you signed up for a 50 MB account and your website uses 22 MB of space, you would have 28 MB of space available for your email accounts..
Are the servers setup to play Flash files (swf)?
Do you support Microsoft FrontPage 98 / 2000?
Yes, we fully support FrontPage 98 & 2000. To activate FrontPage extensions all you need to do is to log into your easy to use control panel and click on domains, then your domain name and properties, scroll down to Frontpage and click on Install. The extensions are now live. You need extensions if you are going to upload your webpages to your website via FrontPage. If you are using FrontPage you should never use regular FTP to upload your files. This will damage the extensions and cause transfer problems. Use one or the other all the time.
How do I access my control panel?
Your control panel goes live as soon as you receive our welcome email. If your website is www.mysite.com, your control panel would be http://mysite.com/admin - please note however that if you have ordered a transfer of an existing website it can take 1-3 days for your website and control panel to become live due to changing the DNS. In such circumstances we provide a temporary address for you to access your control panel so that you can get working on your website ASAP.
I wish to sell products from my website. Do you offer E-Commerce?
Yes. There are is a monthly fee-based shopping cart available on all Emperor Hosting plans. We can setup your shopping cart for you from our web design services for an additional fee. We also offer the ability to accept credit card transactions.
What credit / debit cards to you accept for payment?
We currently accept MasterCard and Visa cards for payment of any services or Emperor Hosting plans. We can also accept payment through Paypal. You need to have an account setup with Paypal, then we will bill you through Paypal. They will email you a bill from us for you to accept or deny. You may also make payment by check or money order. Is it safe to put my credit / debit card information on your website?
We don't ask for your credit / debit card on our site. We use a shopping cart that is seperated but associated with Navona Designs to process your credit card and your order goes through the secure shopping cart, Paypal will ask for your cc information.
Will I have shell access to my account?
No, due to security issues related to shell.
Do you support ASP?
Yes. We use a Windows IIS 5.0 server that supports ASP.NET as well as PHP.
What is your data backup systems?
Every server on our network runs on Redundant Cisco GSR & Juniper Routers, should any of the primary disk drives fail, a secondary disk drive can take over the work load with no loss of availability. Backups are made daily.
Is there any commitment in the Hosting plans?
We offer month to month Emperor Hosting as well as 6 months and yearly options on any Emperor Hosting plan. There are no setup fees for any Emperor Hosting plan and you can cancel anytime.
How do I cancel service?
You can cancel your hosting anytime. Your account will remain active until the end of the month you have paid for, and we will refund any unused amount for the remaining months minus a 20% administrative fee.
